Two hours until the man in my life lands in my town. We will officially be 2200 miles closer than we were this morning. That will be nice. It's been a long six weeks.
Of notable news today I finally changed the oil in my car. I have to say I had probably put it off too long as it came out like Hershey's syrup. My bad. I've been meaning to change it since the marathon in October. Whoops. It's just so cold to crawl under the car in the winter (yes I change my own oil. It saves money and I'm a champion like that.) but thankfully we had beautiful weather today which precipitated me crawling under the car. I finally found a use for the hideous brown half-marathon shirt that I have. I've only worn it once...now twice with oil spots on it.
I did horribly on my lab final today. We had to administer a YMCA sub maximal VO2 bike test. My subject ended up being the teacher. As soon as the 15 minute time limit was done she reamed me for not adjusting the handlebars. What?? If they were that uncomfortable, any normal person would have said something. I have a feeling that I'm not getting a very good grade in that class. I am fully capable of administering much more complicated tests, with real athletes, in the real world with harder math and real situations on a weekly basis as that is what I do for my internship, but she doesn't know that. Oh well. I just want to pass I suppose. I used to try and get good grades until I started having her for a teacher and grading became so subjective.
Let's see...I suppose that's it for today. I'm getting excited for Ironman again. Shedding the winter poundage and back to running. My foot, which was having some plantar fasciitis problems, seems to be doing great. I've been running every day this week which makes me feel good about the injury status. The snow is melting and I foresee some great long 70+ mile bike rides in the near future. Ahh....my favorite pasttime. I can't wait for that. Thank you sunshine. Apparently the ironman course if pretty much cleared, although I hear we are supposed to have more snow tonight. :( I have a weird relationship with a piece of carbon, a tiny little seat, and some spandex.
Okay I still have to clean the bathroom so I'm off.

Did you know that you can get your oil changed at Walmart for like $17.00...that's barely more than the cost of the oil and filter! That being said, I'm always impressed with people who do it themselves...although I don't know about people who wait for an extra 4 months...OK so I once went about 10000 miles between changes, (and I'm an Automotive Technician)...what's even worse is that I just spent like three minutes typing about oil changes...I know I'm not normal!
i'm getting excited for ironman too.. i may blog about it, but don't hold your breath. :) i too used to care about grades, but now i just want to pass so i can be done. i have a bad attitude. :) does the teacher bike? or are you supposed to assume that someone who is paying for a vo2 test doesn't know when to speak up to say they're uncomfortable? hmmm... people are fun, eh?
the world could do without the task of cleaning the bathroom. yuck!
