She smiled at me from across the room. She was cute. She had dark brown hair cut to her shoulders, big brown eyes, and a smile that lit up the room. She kept eying me out of the corner of her eye and then would look and smile and I would smile back. This happened the entire half hour of kindergarten class where I was sitting observing.
When the teacher was done telling the story and asked the children to get their backpacks to go home, this little girl walked right over to me and stood there.
I smiled.
She smiled back.
She was cute. I said, "Hi." She said, "Hi."
"What's your name?" I asked. She answered, "Ruth. What's your name?"
I introduced myself and my daughter and smiled and we stood there in silence for a minute. Then, "You're Prrreettyy."
I smiled. "Thanks. So are you Ruth."
She was so cute. She made my day. So innocent. So pure. So honest and open. I wish more people wouldn't be afraid to tell me that I'm pretty or at least be honest and open. The innocence of a child can't be beat. I hope she goes far in life.
