Farming.

I took up farming.

Yes. Those of you who scrunch up your face and say, "Whaaaa??" (because I know this is how you talk) you are doubters in the great power of Houstanian farming. It's a well kept agricultural secret, but due to the humidity of the Southern Texas region, farming seems to be great down here. So I took on a new career.

Farming.

Well, let's just admit it, it's not a job that I'm getting paid for. It's not even a job that I'm doing outside of my house. I don't want to get out in the humidity. That's disgusting. I started a farm...on my deck.

I went from calling it a garden (giggle giggle giggle because I think I'm so funny) to calling it a farm, just because it's that absurd. I have 1 tomato plant, 1 pot of peas, 1 span of basil (I made up the word span. I don't know if that is a real gardening term or not), and 1 planter of carrots. Madison also has one little tiny pot of carrots...tiny meaning I'm not really sure there is room for even one carrot to grow in there, but we shall see.

I am happy to announce that my basil was the first to poke it's head up above the dirt. The carrots came about today with the tiniest little greenery.

This is the extend of my excitement lately. Makes for a boring blog I know. I just think I'm funny every day when I crawl out of bed and say, "I'm going out to water the farm." I'm fully self-entertaining.

I do talk just like that- but only if you were intending the Whaaa to have a certain sing song characteristic to it- adds to the drama. :-)

not as boring of a post as you think. Actually kinda funny. Does it make you feel more productive to say you have to water the farm plants? I want a farm. All I have is a cherry tomato plant I havent watered on over 2 weeks. those things need water all the dang time, I need something that drinks less. Im going to mail you some pictures, I need your mailing address please. Send it to my yahoo account.
