After recently browsing one of Natalie's sister's blogs, I decided to join the challenge that she proposed. Something like 500/32. I think that's the numbers, although I can't quite remember. This is running 500 miles and reading 32 books in 2009. Although she suggested that you tweak it to numbers that will work for you.
I am going to try and do 1500/5. I laugh as I write this because I obviously run more than I read and either one of those numbers I may actually not attain in real life, but it's worth a try. I'm probably more likely to run 1500 miles sooner than I would read five books unfortunately, unless of course Junie B. Jones or Curious George counts. It's not that I don't like to read because honestly the library is one of my favorite places in the world, it's just that I can never manage to get through an entire book, unless it's for school or something like that. I always feel like I should be doing something else other than reading. So I think five books in a year is a good challenge for myself. I'm starting with Velvet Elvis....a book that I have actually already started in 2008, but guess what? I never finished it. So I'll start with that and I only started with my mileage from this week because honestly, there wasn't much before that in 2009.
You will see my little runner at the bottom telling me how close I am to achieving my goal. In all honesty, I don't know if I can achieve this mileage this year with being pregnant and having a newborn, but 500 seemed too small of a number and in the end it only works out to 4 miles a day which when you say it that way, doesn't really seem like much anyway.
Now it's my turn to challenge you to make your own challenge. (I know, it sounds cheesy. I just like having goals so I can look back and see what I've done) Blog about it. Comment about it. I want to know what you are going to do in 2009.
I usually hate New Year's Resolutions. I don't make them. I make fun of the people who do make them. Don't consider this a New Year's Resolution. Consider it just a goal.

We are SO life partners. I read all the time... but it's more like pages here and there and then me going to do something else. It's incredibly difficult for me to actually get through an entire book. Haha. I swear I have ADD. My attention is not easily held for very long. Velvet Elvis? Yeah, never finished that one either.
Interesting. I like your little runner person.
I forgot to tell you, I like your new layout. Very cute, and much easier to read than before.
And now your life is complete. You're Welcome.
That is so funny. You must think im the laziest person in the world! I'm at 2 miles. Im so pathetic. Im like you though when it comes to reading, I have 2 books that i have been reading, one for a year now, and the other since your wedding, Neither I have finished, but I did read a book in between, Twilight, that wasnt to bad, but I had 3 weeks off work and we did a lot of traveling and adam did all the driving. You ahve inspired me to shoot for more mileage. But not MUCH more. Crazy girl! I need to figure out a way to stay focused on a treadmill. Its soo so hard to stay focused. I dont get too tired, just increadibly bored. Miss you by the way, hope your baby is doing good.
