This makes for some of the best puddle jumping. We took the kiddo out and taught her how to have fun in the rain. Needless to say, it was completely pointless to wear raincoats and have umbrellas because we were completely soaking by the time we were done. She was a bit timid at first to run through the puddles with her rubber boots, so I took the initiative and ran through the puddles to show her how to do it. Unfortunately I don't own rubber boots so my running shoes were completely soaked. Once they get wet though, there is no point in stopping. We ran around in the thunder storms for nearly two hours through the dirty, nasty water of Houston. It was great. Probably the most fun you can have in the city. Thunder storms are the best. And flooding makes it even better. What's better than puddle jumping when the puddles come up to your knees?

I used to LOVE it when it rained when I lived in Amarillo. It would do the same thing; rain hard and make huge puddles. My friend Rachel and I would stand at the curb of a busy road outside our apartments and wave at people and motion for them to splash us. A lot of them actually did it. (crazy people... law suit waiting to happen). But we loved it. And I agree, I have never had more fun than I did in a heavy rainstorm. Glad you guys found something fun to do! And don't forget to do it every chance you get, because when you move back west, you won't have that anymore. :( You make me miss being a kid.
p.s. You should be watching FOX! Go conservatives!
Holy crap, that's a lot of water! Yikes! Aren't you glad you have a "pimpin" SUV to navigate your way through the dirty water? I mean, when you're not wading in it, that is. ;-) Fun.
Oh, and safety first... "we ran through ponds of water in the midst of a thunderstorm". hahaha. Nice. :-)
