Seven Years Absence-A Review

*See bottom

I had the pleasure of watching one of the hometown Washington bands play last time I was in the area in August. Seven Years Absence

I have to say that it was quite enjoyable, despite the fact that I thought I was going through menopause. Upon questioning my faithful female life partner who was standing next to me, I realized that I wasn't actually going through menopause, but that it was just really, extremely hot in the building. Whew. I'm so glad. I would be sad if my eggs expired so young. I digress.

In review of the show, I will have to say that among the sheer talent and passion that these boys have for what they do, they are an inspiration to me. Being as I might have known at least 50% of the four person band back in our pre-pubescent years, I have enjoyed seeing what they have evolved and grown to achieve in life. As many people know about me (I think), I have much respect for anyone who lives out their dreams and desires of what they want to do in this life. We really only have today and even that could be cut short right? So I have been very impressed that these boys have used their musical abilities that I'm sure were influenced from Mrs. J (eh? yeah?) back in Johnson Hall at SVAS, to push forward into now becoming this famous-at-least-in-certain-circles band that they are today. I immensely enjoy their shows every time I go, not just because of the vast spectrum of spectators in the room ranging from super-posture boy (what was that all about? Trigirl82 can read my thoughts), to the hipsters (thank you Mule), to the random parent or blast from the past high school acquaintance, but also because they seem to improve their talents (and cheesy jokes) every time that I see them. I like that. I like people who stick with things once they are started.

The evening wouldn't have been successfully concluded without a random drive-through stop on the way home for four large cups of "the best ice in town," which ended up not being the "right" ice. Better luck next time. Thanks for the ride Shahn. I haven't done that since high school.

So, for a review. I would have to say that Marshall and Burman give it two thumbs up! If that meant anything to anyone I'm sure they would care. But seriously, good job guys...even if you never read this. I like what you're doing. Keep up the good work.

*Unfortunately I don't have any ACTUAL pictures of the band, but in true form, we did take a self-portrait of ourselves at the venue.*

What was up with posture guy? Haha. Weeeeeird.

I love cheesy jokes.

No mention of the disappearing shirt? Sad. One second it's there and the next? Gone... Drumming appears to be a sweaty job. It's acceptable, although a bit startling. I'm not going to lie.

How can you not like the word kudos? It's so random. Plus it's a granola bar. How can you not like granola bars Lindsay? Because there is a correlation... There is. Don't question it.

I give this post 4 KUDOS. I would have given you 5, but for obvious reasons, 4 will have to do. Don't be such a hater...

My bad. I thought we were on the same page with this one. Oh, and add wad to THE list. I don't like that word. It's dirty.

Hey, I was just looking for an Ike Update. I got absolutely nothing about this post. Inside posts?

Glad to see you at least have your electric back on.
